I'm a Gen Xer who mainly posts about music. I'm an adult learner who plays Irish trad instrumental tunes on tenor banjo - jigs, reels, hornpipes, slides, polkas, slip-jigs, barndances, schottisches, airs, mazurkas and the like. I also enjoy participating in Irish sessions where these types of tunes are played.
When I'm just listening to music for my own enjoyment my taste ranges from live Phish to Lanquidity/Sleeping Beauty/On Jupiter era Sun Ra, to the Ethio-jazz of Mulatu Astatke, to the roots reggae of Augustus Pablo, to the DIY spaghetti-western soul jazz funk of Tommy Guerrero, to the all-improv Australian trio The Necks, to the KPM library music of Alan Hawkshaw/Brian Bennett, and much, much more.
